Nginyu Weyi Yembe died on 1st December 2016, two days after his 51st birthday.

Nginyu (called Nginging by those closest to him) was born on 29th November 1965 in Ibadan, Nigeria, the first child of late Dr Omer Weyi Yembe and Faustina Egbe Yembe.

He attended Government primary school Bambili up to 1975. His secondary and high schools were Sacred Heart College Mankon, Cricklewood Middle & High School London, and Cameroon College of Arts, Science and Technology (CCAST) Bambili. For post secondary education, he attended University of Calabar 1985 - 1989 where he read law; the Advanced Teachers Training College (also known in Cameroon by its French acronym Ecole Normale Superieure) Annexe Bambili - ENSAB- 1993-1996, & Higher ENS Yaoundé for the second cycle 1996 - 1999. While in ENSAB he spent a semester at Regina University Saskatchewan, Canada in 1994 as an exchange student, where he had courses in curriculum studies and computer sciences. After graduating from Higher ENS Yaoundé 1999, he was sent to teach English at Government Technical High School Wum, and later transferred to Government Technical High School Njinikom.

Nginyu was skilled in writing lesson preparations and notes for students: grammatical structures, multiple choices, video reproductions of classical plays especially those recommended for GCE Ordinary and Advanced Levels. His hobbies included reading, real estate development, gardening, helping students in the neighbourhood, and exercising. He was soft spoken, respectful and sociable, loved his family and children dearly, and loved the Wmbum culture. The Fon of Mbot gave him the title of NGWANG in January 2001.

Nginyu was a member of the Catholic Men's Association (CMA) of the Our Lady of Fatima Parish Bambili, Sacred Heart College Ex-Students' Association ( SHESA) Tubah Chapter, and the St. John Paul 11 Small Christian Community (SCC) Bambili. He loved his paternal home Mbot, and his material home Mamfe. He took active part in social activities of the Mushungmuabu quarter, Bambili, where he lived.

Towards the end of his life Nginging faced many challenges, but as a Catholic Christian he learnt to carry his cross and follow Jesus. May God grant him mercy and receive him into His Heavenly Kingdom. He is survived by his mother, a brother and two sisters; his wife, two daughters and a son; several aunties and uncles, cousins and a host of friends. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
